From museums to parks, concerts to local businesses, parades to restaurants–I’m taking you on an adventure in my amazing city. Come along with me – whether you are a visitor to the city or a long-time resident, there’s always something new to discover.

Intrepid, artistic explorations! Thanks for selecting this group of talented artists 🙂
I’m visiting for the first time early in the New Year staying for 8 days so it’s really interesting to read your blog, thank you.
8 days is a good amount of time to explore the city! I’m sure you will love it!
Love the blog, Keep in touch Susan! We met at the NMAI-Smithsonian Winter Art Market where I was a vendor.
I remember, Tammy! I still have a post to do about the Art Market – really enjoyed my visit.
Where’s the BEST ICE cream in NYC??
More like: “BEST ICE CREAM”
Hi Callie! My favorite NYC ice cream is Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream. They make the best small batch ice cream, rich and creamy, with quality ingredients. They are based in Brooklyn but also have a couple of shops in Manhattan, as well as ice cream trucks that roam the city. Yum! Ample Hills Creamery, also in Brooklyn, has delicious ice cream as well.
Mmmm yummy! Sounds delicious. I will definitely check those out next time I’m in New York! Thank you!
Hey Susan! Thanks for the follow. I love the look and posts of your blog–I have been meaning to get up to New York, the city of cities!
I know I may be a bit prejudiced, but I think NYC is the greatest city on Earth! I love your blog as well, and look forward to reading more of it!
Thank you for the follow! I think you have found an interesting niche here – I haven’t been to NYC myself and your articles are useful!
Thanks, Leya! I love New York City, and I enjoy exploring both the major museums and tourist locations and the local places that visitors commonly don’t know about. It can be intimidating to take public transportation in a new city, so I try to include tips for how to get to each place as well. I really love your blog, and look forward to reading more – the photos are beautiful!
Lucky you finding NYC one day at a time! We just visited the city in December (only about our 4th visit), and already I’m itching to return!!! Thanks for following Oh, the Places We See. You may enjoy our series on Christmas Holiday NYC: http://ohtheplaceswesee.com/category/travel-series/christmas-holiday-nyc/ I only have one, possibly two, more entries to add to this Travel Series. Can’t wait to read your posts. Thanks for following!
We have been to some of the same places – I also wrote about the Christmas windows this year (http://findingnyc.com/2015/12/23/christmas-in-new-york-city/), as well as some of the museum Christmas trees. I look forward to reading your remaining posts about your visit!
Hi Susan, thanks for following my blog and I’m glad that I have found yours. I have never been to NYC though I have seen many pictures and have read about this city…from movies. Yeah, I know, it sounds so cliche but that’s the truth 🙂 What I like about your blog is from the perspective of a local. Looking forward to read more of your posts.
P.S. Stay warm and safe with the blizzard…
Cheers,
Kat
Hi Kat,
Hopefully you will have the chance to visit New York City someday! There are many places I only know about from movies, TV programs, and the Internet – it makes the list of places I want to visit grow longer and longer! The snow has been beautiful and amazing, but I’m ready to have it melt now.
Best wishes, Susan
Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂 I adore New York and visited during November last year. Itching to go back! I think I’ll be taking some tips from you for my third trip there…
Hi Bijal, It’s impossible to visit New York City just once, isn’t it? There is so much to do here, you can come back again and again and never do it all. I’m glad you are enjoying my blog, and I hope that you are able to return to New York City soon! Best wishes, Susan
Hi Susan, thanks for the follow. And I’m glad I was able to discover you too – love your blog!! This will be great inspiration for me as I live in the NYC suburbs (moved out with my family after 12 years as a resident). Looking forward to reading more.
So glad you are enjoying the blog. I think it’s easy to take the city for granted after a while – in fact, that’s one of the reasons why I started the blog, so that I would be inspired to explore even further than I might otherwise! I hope that my posts inspire you and your family to discover even more about New York City as well. Best wishes, Susan
Hi Susan, great to check out your blog. New York is one city I’ve always wanted to visit so until I get there I can do it through your blog! Lovely work.
It has always been a dream for me to visit New York and it will be my ultimate travel adventure! Thanks for giving me a taste of how wonderful this place is and hoping to see this place someday myself. 🙂
Thank you! Hopefully in the short term my blog can provide some armchair travel for you, and inspiration for a future visit someday!
Thanks for the follow. Heading to NYC in May for a few days before moving on the New Haven. It will be the first time across the pond for my children. We’re all very excited.
I love your blog and your passion for your city! Maybe when I finally get to NYC I won’t be such a fish out of water because I read you! TY!
Hi Susan; you have an absolutely wonderful blog. Look forward to reading many of your posts!
I have been to NYC for a real short visit; just a day to be precise. But I would love to visit for a longer time, I really adored the city.
Many thanks for stopping by my blog and the follow:)
Hi Susan! I wish I had discovered you before our trip to NYC last fall 🙂 O well… now I have a reason to come back again someday 😉
New York City is definitely one of those places you can visit over and over! I’m glad you are enjoying my blog. Thanks for following it!
We were there for such a short time and we feel there is so much more to see and do there. The sheer number of restaurants boggled my mind!
Yes, so much to explore in NYC, and it’s nice to get some tips from locals. 👍🏻
Hi Susan, thank you for the follow – look forward to exploring your blog & seeing your local perspective on the city 🙂 I visited New York last summer, and would love to return!
Thanks for following me as well! Hope you have the opportunity to visit NYC again – it’s definitely a city that you can visit over and over again without running out of things to do!
Fingers crossed for a return visit in the future! It’s just impossible to see everything in one trip – which is what makes it such an awesome place!
Hi Susan. Just to thank you for the follow and it’s great to connect with another big city lover. It’s been too long – as in five years – since I was in NYC but soon I hope…
Thanks for dropping by my blog. I love your reviews and especially the exhibition photographs. I think I would love New York – I really must visit sometime. Southampton Old Lady
My goodness, I stopped by your site this morning and realized I’d missed so much! Somehow or other I hadn’t clicked ‘follow’ all that time ago (I can be a real dingbat.) and so was unknowingly out of the loop. But on the plus side, I now have a treasure trove of your adventures to savour.
Hello, Susan! Thanks a lot for the follow! Interesting blog! 🙂
Hi! Thanks for the follow. Your blog’s great, I’ve never been to New York but it’s on the list and I’m sure I’d find plenty of inspiration here.
Hi Susan – I absolutely love reading your insightful posts, they really bring NYC to life & show a different side to the city, so have nominated you for a Liebster award! https://lagrenouilleanglaise.wordpress.com/2016/07/06/liebster-award/
Thank you for the nomination, Rosie! I am very honored. I am afraid that I cannot respond to the award in a separate blog post, although I am very appreciative. I am careful to only post things about New York City and have made no exceptions so that everyone knows what to expect from my blog. Thanks again, Susan
That’s not a problem, I completely understand 🙂
Hi Susan! Happy to have found your blog! I love the layout, the style the content…everything! I’ve read some of your posts and I can’t wait to read more! Looking forward to following you 🙂

Now that I am seriously thinking of getting to NYC more than once a month, mostly to take photographs but also to find exciting new galleries, art, and food, I am definitely looking forward to reading your blog on a regular basis.

Thank you for following me! I hope that you continue to enjoy my posts – and maybe discover some new places you want to visit when you come to NYC.
Hi, Susan! I just found your place on the internet, another lover of the Gotham City!
We’re hoping that the Voyage will take us to New York City! MOMA is on our list, and I’ll be checking out your blog to get ideas to add to Our List! Glad I found you!
Thank you! New York City is definitely worth the visit! MOMA is an amazing museum, and if you like art you will find many other wonderful places to discover.
