      1. Hi Callie! My favorite NYC ice cream is Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream. They make the best small batch ice cream, rich and creamy, with quality ingredients. They are based in Brooklyn but also have a couple of shops in Manhattan, as well as ice cream trucks that roam the city. Yum! Ample Hills Creamery, also in Brooklyn, has delicious ice cream as well.

    1. Thanks, Leya! I love New York City, and I enjoy exploring both the major museums and tourist locations and the local places that visitors commonly don’t know about. It can be intimidating to take public transportation in a new city, so I try to include tips for how to get to each place as well. I really love your blog, and look forward to reading more – the photos are beautiful!

Hi Susan, thanks for following my blog and I’m glad that I have found yours. I have never been to NYC though I have seen many pictures and have read about this city…from movies. Yeah, I know, it sounds so cliche but that’s the truth 🙂 What I like about your blog is from the perspective of a local. Looking forward to read more of your posts.

P.S. Stay warm and safe with the blizzard…

    Cheers,
    Kat

    1. Hi Kat,
Hopefully you will have the chance to visit New York City someday! There are many places I only know about from movies, TV programs, and the Internet – it makes the list of places I want to visit grow longer and longer! The snow has been beautiful and amazing, but I’m ready to have it melt now.
      Best wishes, Susan

  2. Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂 I adore New York and visited during November last year. Itching to go back! I think I’ll be taking some tips from you for my third trip there…

    1. Hi Bijal, It’s impossible to visit New York City just once, isn’t it? There is so much to do here, you can come back again and again and never do it all. I’m glad you are enjoying my blog, and I hope that you are able to return to New York City soon! Best wishes, Susan

  3. Hi Susan, thanks for the follow. And I’m glad I was able to discover you too – love your blog!! This will be great inspiration for me as I live in the NYC suburbs (moved out with my family after 12 years as a resident). Looking forward to reading more.

    1. So glad you are enjoying the blog. I think it’s easy to take the city for granted after a while – in fact, that’s one of the reasons why I started the blog, so that I would be inspired to explore even further than I might otherwise! I hope that my posts inspire you and your family to discover even more about New York City as well. Best wishes, Susan

  4. It has always been a dream for me to visit New York and it will be my ultimate travel adventure! Thanks for giving me a taste of how wonderful this place is and hoping to see this place someday myself. 🙂

  5. Thanks for the follow. Heading to NYC in May for a few days before moving on the New Haven. It will be the first time across the pond for my children. We’re all very excited.

I love your blog and your passion for your city! Maybe when I finally get to NYC I won’t be such a fish out of water because I read you! TY!

  7. Hi Susan; you have an absolutely wonderful blog. Look forward to reading many of your posts!
I have been to NYC for a real short visit; just a day to be precise. But I would love to visit for a longer time, I really adored the city.
Many thanks for stopping by my blog and the follow:)

  8. Hi Susan, thank you for the follow – look forward to exploring your blog & seeing your local perspective on the city 🙂 I visited New York last summer, and would love to return!

    1. Thanks for following me as well! Hope you have the opportunity to visit NYC again – it’s definitely a city that you can visit over and over again without running out of things to do!

      1. Fingers crossed for a return visit in the future! It’s just impossible to see everything in one trip – which is what makes it such an awesome place!

  9. Hi Susan. Just to thank you for the follow and it’s great to connect with another big city lover. It’s been too long – as in five years – since I was in NYC but soon I hope…

  10. My goodness, I stopped by your site this morning and realized I’d missed so much! Somehow or other I hadn’t clicked ‘follow’ all that time ago (I can be a real dingbat.) and so was unknowingly out of the loop. But on the plus side, I now have a treasure trove of your adventures to savour.

    1. Thank you for the nomination, Rosie! I am very honored. I am afraid that I cannot respond to the award in a separate blog post, although I am very appreciative. I am careful to only post things about New York City and have made no exceptions so that everyone knows what to expect from my blog. Thanks again, Susan

  11. Now that I am seriously thinking of getting to NYC more than once a month, mostly to take photographs but also to find exciting new galleries, art, and food, I am definitely looking forward to reading your blog on a regular basis.
